ARTICLE XXIII MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS
Section 23.1
- Each employee will be allowed $l..98 per hour (increased to $2.08 per hour effective November 1, 2004; increased to $2.12 per hour effective November 1, 2005) for each hour actually worked when using (and for the use of) his/her personal vehicle for U.R.E.O.O. work.
- No employee will be required to transport an unreasonable weight of supplies and materials in his/her personal automobile.
Section 23.2 – Annual Allowance
Employees shall receive a lump sum amount equal to $150.00 on November 1 of each contract year in order to supplement expenses associated with the job.
Section 23.3. - Tool Insurance
Effective December 1, 1989, the U.R.E.O.O. will provide Tool Floater insurance policy coverage with a specified maximum of $1,500.00 per maintenance employee. The coverage has a $200.00 deductible per claim occurrence. For the purpose of expediting the replacement of stolen tools, the University will establish a loan provision for the employee who makes an insurance claim for the replacement of stolen tools.
On an annual basis, employees shall be required to furnish an inventory listing of their existing tools to management by January 1 of each year. The U.R.E.O.O. will review the tool insurance upper limit to determine the adequacy of coverage, not later than July 1 of each year.
Section 23.4.
The U.R.E.O.O. will replace a basic tool personally owned by an employee, which is broken while being properly used in performing work for U.R.E.O.O. A "basic" tool is one considered essential to the ordinary performance of the occupation or trade of the employee concerned.
Section 23.5.
An additional person will be assigned to work with and assist an employee who is assigned to high scaffold work, bosun's chair, high ladder or other similar hazardous work.
Section 23.6.
No employee who starts a regularly scheduled full day's work shall be laid off for lack of work before the end of the day.
Section 23.7
In January 2005 and again in January 2007, U.R.E.O.O. will furnish seven (7) uniform shirts to each employee. Such shirts will be worn during working hours.
